That phrase came to me while I captured my thoughts from the conference.
Sort of like silly putty -- the truth can be molded to form an exactly perfect response to a tough question.
On the spot.
Quick.
Spin to win?

Spin to win?
Yes. That's exactly what was going on. Someone would ask a question -- and there would be a response.
It was quick, it was fast. Was it true?
Well, yes, technically, probably.
Though it often comes down to the wording.
Is it semantics or more?
What is the difference between this and that?
It's the need to please or the need to win or maybe some interesting combination of the two.
It is prevalent and obvious at business conferences .... so what's it mean for all of us?
Take time when asking questions: make them (the sales team, the marketing team) slow down and really respond. If not then, then later.
Keep at it until you get the details you need even if it means sitting through a demo or two or five.
Due diligence: that's what the accountants call it....
